How Soul Dust Revival Came to Be
November 5, 2026
It began at a table, not on a mountaintop.
Soul Dust Revival was not written by men who had it all together. It was written from the dust.
There came a season for each of us when the Christian life felt thinner than we wanted to admit. Prayer felt mechanical. The Bible felt familiar but far away. Nothing looked broken from the outside. Inside, something was clinging to the dirt.
Then Psalm 119:25 named it: "My soul clings to the dust; Revive me according to Your word" (NKJV). A soul face down in the dirt — and in the same breath, a man asking God to raise him by His Word. It became a prayer we had to learn to pray.
Five men and a table
The series began with five men sitting down together over several days. The conversations were live and unscripted. They talked about Scripture, about sin, and about what it takes for a man to get up off the ground.
One of them, Brad Bird, has spent many years as a full-time Bible teacher, several of them as a pastor. He brought years of sermon notes and teaching material to the table.
How the books were made
A book that asks you to be honest should be honest about how it was made.
The recordings and the notes were compiled with the help of artificial intelligence. The AI gathered, sorted, and shaped the raw material. It did not supply the convictions. The Scripture, the theology, and the burden for men came from the table. Every page was then read, corrected, and approved by the team before it went to print.
A shovel does not make the soil rich. It only turns it over. What feeds a man is the Word of God.
From one workbook to a series
The first Soul Dust Revival was a 24-week men's workbook in two parts, built one lesson at a time. That workbook set the pattern for everything since: the weekly format, the look of the pages, the dust-to-glory arc.
It grew into a 48-week journey across four volumes. Then came studies that walk a single book of the Bible from start to finish — Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 Peter, Romans, Genesis. Then topical studies on the Sermon on the Mount, the Ten Commandments, the Parables, Prayer, Law and Gospel, Flesh and Spirit, Confession and Repentance. Then daily devotionals, including a 365-day walk through all 150 Psalms.
Every one of them comes back to the same verse.
Why the World English Bible
Most Scripture in Soul Dust Revival is quoted from the World English Bible. That was a deliberate choice. The WEB is in the public domain, so the ministry owns every finished book outright. No licensing stands between these studies and the men who need them.
Who stands behind it
Soul Dust Revival is published by MarketLife Ministries (also operating as Bible Studies, Inc.), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Winnsboro, South Carolina, incorporated in 1999. The books carry one byline: The Soul Dust Team.
Why we keep writing
Revival is God's work, not ours and not yours. We can open the Scripture slowly. We can name sin plainly. But only Christ does for the dust-man what the dust-man cannot do for himself. He went into the grave and came out of it, and He raises men who are lying in the dirt.
If your soul has settled low, you are the man we had in mind at that table. Read slowly, with a Bible open and, if you can, a brother beside you.
May the Lord do what only the Lord can do, and revive you according to His Word.
